What the reviewers say…
The ease of use for the Makita BHX2500CA was a high point for many reviewers. The 4-stroke engine eliminates the need to mix oil and gas, as the blower has a separate tank for each. An improved engine configuration makes it easy to do routine maintenance such as cleaning/replacing spark plugs, air filters, and fuel lines. Compared to similar 2-stroke models the BHX2500CA is much quieter, produces less emissions, and is much more fuel efficient. The cruise control lever is a helpful feature for big extended use jobs.
Although most reviews were positive, the main complaints about this blower, were that, with extended use, it can become heavy at a weight of 9.8 pounds. Also while most agree that the BHX2500CA is plenty powerful for most jobs, it is less powerful than some comparable 2-stroke models. Since this is a 4-stroke engine, holding the blower at extreme angles can cause oil to get into the crankcase and smoke. Not a problem for most tasks, but its something to think about depending on what you plan on using the blower for.
- Powerful enough for most light-medium duty jobs
- No mixing oil and gas
- Cruise control lever reduces strain on hands
- Easy to maintain
- Excellent fuel efficiency
- Blower can become heavy with extended use
- Can not be used at extreme angles due to smoking
The Makita BHX2500CA is a good choice if you’re looking for a blower that is easy to start, operate, and maintain, and it makes short work of most blowing/sweeping tasks. The more efficient 4-stroke engine makes this blower heavier than some comparable models, but if you can handle the extra weight the BHX2500CA is a solid choice in the handheld blower category.
