A majority of reviewers are in agreement that with 441 CFM air volume and max wind speeds of 170 MPH, the Hitachi RB24EAP is one of the most powerful handheld blowers on the market. It offers enough force to handle most large jobs such a fall leaf clean up, and blowing wet grass. The purge primer makes for easy starting usually on the first or second pulls. The auto return stop switch eliminates failed attempts to start due to the switch being in the off position.
The large throttle lever allows for great control of the blower, but it would have been nice to have a continuous on switch (cruise control) for large extended use jobs. The Hitachi RB24EAP is fairly lightweight (8.6 lbs) and is easy to handle even at max speeds. The air intake is located on the left side of the blower so right handed users may tend to get their clothing stuck on it, if the blower is held close to the body.
The large throttle lever gives good control of the blowing power.
Some reviewers complained about a problem with deterioration of fuel lines over time, but using gasoline without Ethanol and adding fuel stabilizer seems to reduce/eliminate the problem. The 7-year residential warranty is very impressive and is the best in class for handheld blowers.
